  1. I've been lucky enough that a friend has bought me a Kamado Joe Junior. Keen to get an ash basket, however nowhere in the UK seems to stock the Kick Ash Basket for the KJ-JR. Can anyone recommend another one which will fit? Thanks
  2. So I'm thinking of getting a KJ Junior to compliment my larger kamado. I am planning to fit it into my newly built table on a pull out drawer. The alcove into which it will go is not high enough for the kamado in the stand. Is it possible to sit the kamado on the drawer? Obviously on a ceramic tile to protect the surface from heat. Does the Jr absolutely need to be on the stand?

  6. Question for the folks who aren't fussed about controllers - how often do you leave a cook on overnight? How often does the fire go out?

  8. Thanks for the replies folks. I'm leaning towards a pitmaster iq120. Has anyone had any issues with them? Do they slow down airflow at the required temperature or do they slow down as the bbq approaches the desired temperature?

  10. Skreef, very sorry to read about your loss. As a parent I can't imagine how awful it is to lose a child. Fwiw I do think that guns make it too easy to kill people. Here in the UK, guns are basically illegal and our murder rate is far far lower than places where guns are more prevalent. Honestly one of the most stupid things I've heard is the "guns don't kill people, people kill people."

  13. Thanks for all the replies folks. I got the 4000. And I did get the diffuser as I do really want to be doing low and slow cooks and also it allows a low grill platform to be used, which is great for searing.   14. Just pulled the trigger on a keg today. Hopefully I'll have it for the weekend. Any tips for using the keg? I've seen that using briquettes is not recommended - is that just because lump charcoal is better or briquettes aren't ideal and might cause damage?
  15. I'm in the market for a kamado cooker and have been looking at a Big Steel Keg. One of the reviews I read says it's quite difficult to control low temperatures. Is this true? Is there anymore information on why?

  17. Perry, I like the picture, though I did want to have the charcoals closer to the bottom where there will be more of an updraft with the chimney effect. Think I'll have to experiment when I do pull the trigger.
  18. Thanks folks! I was wanting to have a cooking grill much lower to the charcoals. I'm torn between an akorn and a kamado Joe.
  19. Has anyone tried using the Kamado Joe Divide & Conquer system with the Akorn? Will it fit?
