  1. Golden's Cast Iron Kamado Review request

I own one and love it. Have made pizzas several times that came out great. (full disclosure, I'm part of the company that makes them in Columbus GA!) As for totally independent experiences on Golden's Cast Iron Cooker, you might want to check out some of Lunchman's posts on BBQ-Bretheren. There are others out there as well. Good luck! g
  2. My First Kamado Attempt

Looks like a great first night together! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  3. 1st it's Weber... next is Blaze Grills...

The wall thickness and the incorporation of a 1"air gap between the field and the outer walls provides excellent heat retention. The cooking experience is as good as any ceramic cooker (or better). Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Check out Goldens' Cast Iron Cooker. Cast Iron kamado. Made in America. Will last for generations.
  6. Who Cooks on What?

How are you liking the Cast Iron Cooker?I'm loving it. I've been cooking on mine for over 18 months.
  7. Inspired by Adam Perry Lang's peach and rosemary tenderloin - but short on time for shopping and ingredients - I came up with a glaze made from Orange marmalade, mint sauce, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. I fired up my Goldens' Cast Iron Cooker - grates in the low position and bright the cooker up to 500. After coating it and building some nice char, I slipped in the heat deflector and let it finish over indirect heat. It was delicious!
  8. Jrow's pollos

Looks awesome! Definitely going to give it a try!
  9. 16 hours no problem. The design takes advantage of air insulation and the cast iron's thermal mass to absorb and radiate heat evenly. Outside temps and internal temps are very similar to a ceramic model. Seeing and tasting is believing though. We were cooking all three days of the show so hopefully some of those who saw it can put in their two cents!
  10. Hey guys just wanted to share a little good news! Goldens' Cast Iron Cooker - the World's Toughest Kamado - was honored as a Vesta Award Finalist for Design & Innovation at this year's HPBExpo down in New Orleans. We are honored to have received this recognition and are having a blast in the Big Easy! If any of you are in New Orleans for the show. Please swing by our booth inside or, if the rain holds off, come by our cooking tent outside! Look forward to seeing you!
  11. Way to go! That looks great!
  12. Beautiful weekend, so I decided to smoke a butt. I got an 8lb butt, covered it with Foy's Dry Rub and threw it on my Goldens' Cast Iron Cooker around 9:30 Saturday morning. At about 3:00, I checked the temp and the smell coming from the Cooker was heavenly. The hardest thing about smoking a butt to me is not constantly looking for excuses to start tearing off little pieces as it gets close to the end! To avoid temptation and to make myself useful, I decided to make some sides. Chopped up some cabbage, added mayo and a little sour cream to make an awesome coleslaw. Remembered to add the caraway seeds (is that the only thing they're ever used for?). Then got out the cast iron skillet, melted some butter and threw in the spinach with some chopped onions and a little garlic. Pulled the butt off around 6:00. It was easy to pull with my fork. Needless to say it was a great ending to a beautiful day.

  14. Goldens Cast Iron Cooker - Kickoff Pricing

JayhawkPharmer, To your question. We do have lift gate delivery country-wide. West of the Mississippi shipping is $300. East of the MIssissippi it's $200. Tspud1 - They guys who deliver it will put it where you want it. It is a stout piece of equipment! Robertyb - Good catch on the delivery and assembly language on the website. That was referring to local delivery. I'll get that updated. The grill is delivered assembled and mounted to the cart. All you have to do is add fire and meat. As to the warranty, there is a lifetime warranty on all cast iron components; 5yr on all non-cast iron metal components; and 1yr on the temperature gauge and sealing gaskets.
