    Pumpkin Pie

Did a second attempt this weekend on a pumpkin pie on my KJ classic, I hit the ball out of the park this time. The previous weekend I didn't have my normal ingredients for my favorite recipe and was not happy with the outcome. I did two of those and I thought they seemed dry, not sure I ever experienced dryness in a pie before. Anyway, next weekend I will do a pecan pie on there.
  2. Instant Pot is what I use. I love it, it does so many more things than just pressure cook. Sent from my SM-N920C using Tapatalk
  3. Looks like something I'd be looking for for camping, easy to move around. Welcome aboard! Sent from my SM-N920C using Tapatalk
  4. Never give up on trying to get it perfect. Even when my guest think they are eating the best ribs ever, I'm thinking they could be better. I of course eat just as much as everyone else while thinking of what to tweak next. Over cooked dry meat means deboning and adding sauce for bbq sandwiches. Smoke on! 5. I to am having the same issue. Only started peeling with the high temp cooks. I'm not to worried about it though. If you do get a new one, take the old one and strip and clean it, then get a can of high temp paint and repaint it. I have seen others paint it another color just to be different. 6. You are lucky as you have a lot to choose from. Do your research and make a decision. All will get the job done. If it were my money I'd buy the Kamado Joe Classic and a few accessories with the budget you have in mind. My top 3 from my research so far in no particular order BGE, Kamado Joe, and Grill Dome.I ended up buying the KJ classic. Was going for a bge but as I researched I found that the KJ customer service seems to be one of the best for warranty issues. Also more accessories come with the KJ. I got the classic at a KJ roadshow at Costco for $779. I've had mine for just over 6 weeks now and the only extra accessory that I have purchased is 16 in pizza stone. Anyway as others have said, the experience will be pretty much the same no matter which one you go with. Good luck!
  7. Welcome! I picked my KJ classic up at a Costco road show when it was in town. I didn’t have the membership at the time so I purchased that so I could save $230. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  8. Mines about 6 weeks old now, doesn't look like that any longer. Enjoy! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  9. I use a twisted wire one now a days. I use to use the flat wired ones for years but I have found the fallen out bristles on the grill. I've never used a nylon one before only because I usually clean mine while hot. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  10. I have to admit that I picked up a bag of "organic" hickory chunks that seem pretty worthless. Not much flavor from them at all. Will make sure to go back to my other brand. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  11. Kamado style grills are awesome! Welcome aboard! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  12. You have an addiction. You need to find a support group to help you. Lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  13. Welcome aboard! Love cooking with my kamado. Once you manage getting the temp under control, it's a beautiful grill. Enjoy! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  14. Made one of these myself. I did a high temp cook and so after cooking I put it on there to burn off the oils that were on there. Will be testing it out next week when I plan to smoke several different things for a family gathering. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  15. Oh well, eat and enjoy anyway. Looks awesome! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
