  1. Casting flaw. Not a big deal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. All hardware should be metric since it was built in China. That KJ has the new segmented firebox, so I assume it has the new "million dollar" hinge--you should not have problems with it yet. What are you trying to adjust with it? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Where in Austin are you getting the beef plate ribs? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. They have been in the "outdoor" section at both Austin Costco's and the Cedar Park Costco for a few months. Saw them at the William Cannon store last week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Sounds like you plan on doing it already, but covering Costco and Papa Murphys take and bake would be awesome. I think these are both available nationwide. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. I don't fault them for fixing the issues, but it seems KJ specifically has a lot more issues than other brands. Cracked fire bowls (old style), cracked bases, non fitting accessories (big joetisserre). It seems KJ is always being discussed in regards to warranty work. Which could help explain the large price increase for the 2017 models--owners are paying for what appears to be an abnormally high warranty rate. KJ is not absorbing these warranty repairs. I don't see near the warranty issues with other brands--Vision, BGE, Primo, Pit Boss--other than easy fix items, like gasket.
  7. Sam's had them in Choice at $7.99/lb Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Welding cast iron sucks. Run non galvanized nuts and bolts through your big 3/8 holes to seal, and re-drill smaller 1/8 holes.
  9. Bought this from Amazon for my Vision Classic B and can confirm today it fits like a champ, out of the box. Fit, finish, and quality are top notch at the price point. No air gap, and no adjustments to lid--drop it in and go. Bought mine at $95.99 last week and looks like the Amazon bots have upped it a few bucks since then--but still a bargain. Long cord for the motor and square stainless shaft so it won't unscrew like the cheap universal rotisserie kits. I refuse to pay Joetisserie retail for Chinese imported products. Looking forward to trying it out! https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N03ZWML/ref=sxts_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497119862&sr=1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65
  10. Why does this forum get so ruffled when others post their opinions? That's the great thing about the Internet and the various forums that go along with it. It's a place to state your opinion, not to attack another person for his opinion because your opinion differs. There are just as many or more "my KJ firebowl cracked" or "my JOEtisserre does not fit my KJ" posts as Akron problems. No one company is perfect. This whole "Big 3" fanboy rhetoric gets old. The guy likes his Akron better than the "Big 3"--let him opine. No need to get so defensive. Go cook. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks for the heads up. Just got my 5 bags, and they even stacked my 10% mil discount as well! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Very nice! Let me know when the Vision version is ready! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Nice cook. In fact, your video made me go grab 4 cowboy ribeyes from Sam's. I enjoy your videos, but please step up a shirt size please! The Saran Wrap fit is a bit disconcerting! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. I like Tarheels advice. Let them break the Vision and buy a new KJ. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
