  1. Standing Rib Roast

About how long to reach IT at 225?
  2. Finally took the plunge and bought a Vision

You made an excellent choice! Enjoy!
  3. Finally took the plunge and bought a Vision

Do you have a link to this setup? I like the price point.
  4. Thanks for the dogpile. I access this website through Tapatalk which does not show the terms of service at the top of every forum. Thank you for the link. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Can I get a link to the most current terms of service for this website? As a third party, I don't understand what was posted by the OP that required a ban. I see a consumer unstaisfied with service--he attempted to get replacement through the customer service avenue, and is unsatisfied with the results. He posted his displeasure with his third top vent, and he gets the ban? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Cut a piece of cardboard as a template. Transfer to steel and cut on the lines. Too easy.
  7. Casting flaw. Not a big deal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. New Classic II (I Couldn't Resist)

All hardware should be metric since it was built in China. That KJ has the new segmented firebox, so I assume it has the new "million dollar" hinge--you should not have problems with it yet. What are you trying to adjust with it? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Newbie cooks

Where in Austin are you getting the beef plate ribs? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. 2018 Pit Boss release ?

They have been in the "outdoor" section at both Austin Costco's and the Cedar Park Costco for a few months. Saw them at the William Cannon store last week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Pizza 101 - Feedback requested

Sounds like you plan on doing it already, but covering Costco and Papa Murphys take and bake would be awesome. I think these are both available nationwide. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Switching Bases: A Big Joe Story

I don't fault them for fixing the issues, but it seems KJ specifically has a lot more issues than other brands. Cracked fire bowls (old style), cracked bases, non fitting accessories (big joetisserre). It seems KJ is always being discussed in regards to warranty work. Which could help explain the large price increase for the 2017 models--owners are paying for what appears to be an abnormally high warranty rate. KJ is not absorbing these warranty repairs. I don't see near the warranty issues with other brands--Vision, BGE, Primo, Pit Boss--other than easy fix items, like gasket.
  13. Happy Father's Day To Me

Sam's had them in Choice at $7.99/lb Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Welding cast iron sucks. Run non galvanized nuts and bolts through your big 3/8 holes to seal, and re-drill smaller 1/8 holes.
