@JayhawkPharmer, is that just a bucket with the bottom cut out?
-
I'm not too worried about the crack. I'll send Vision a pic just to be on the safe side. I read about every post about adjusting the lid on here. I found out it was easiest just to take it all apart. Well, at least that made it easier to pick it up and put it in the new table....

Did the gasket yesterday and now it doesn't seal very well. Also found out I have a cracked fire bowl. I need to figure out how to adjust this thing so it seals better....

After doing 5 pizzas last night.

I need to take another picture. it doesn't look anything like that any more. I'm still cooking, but sometime after the holidays are over it's getting nomex.

Well, after another month of cooks I need to replace the gasket. When I shut it down it won't die. I thought the temps were moving a little more too. Oh well....

Looks good, I like it. I can do my turkey gravy in it too!

I wouldn't worry about it. Even though Vision sent me new gasket material all I replaced was the cap gasket. It was gone. Mine looks a lot worse now but it still doesn't seem to be leaking.

I almost bought one when I got a couple spiders. I had a 13" stone I used on the bottom grate that worked fine, but it was a $12 stone from Amazon and the first time on the spider down in the bowl was it. Never had a problem when it was on the bottom grate, matter of fact it broke clean into 2 pieces so I just put it back on the bottom grate. I might have to break down and get one from CGS.

I don't want to cook on it, and drippings should keep it from rusting.

Anyone use cast iron for a heat deflector? I'm thinking of setting some kind of cast piece on a spider. I did it with a cheap pizza stone and the stone broke first time out. Cast is cheap too, like me
