Ha, ditto. I don't think I've ever changed my clothes, and the dirtiest I get is the palms of my hands when I move the charcoal around to build my pile.

That said, my wife doesn't often start the grill and she would be interested in a device that makes it a little easier (if only in her mind) to start it.

My thought was that one reason for the new latches was that the weight of the dome alone does not provide a sufficient seal on the new, more durable gasket, particularly in the front.

I've been holding out on replacing my gasket to see if this was incorrect and the new gasket would work with just the weight of the dome, but we'll see.

    I'm really interested in this:
I love the idea of the controller that doesn't really change the way the grill works.

I just received my replacement firebox. My impressions so far:

The ceramic seems a bit more coarse, not that it's a bad thing it just didn't have a nice surface, with a few blemishes in the mold for the top and bottom edges particularly.
    Pretty straight-forward to put together.
Seems a little loose (could have had a completely see-through gap if I didn't space them out)
Really like the grooves on the metal plate for the divide and conquer system
Seems quite thick, will likely hold temperature well.
Have had a smoke going for the last 5 hours (spare ribs) and seems to be holding temperature well.
Seems closer to the Kamado than the last one, possibly because it's thicker.
At the same time, it seems like I have more room inside the firebox (which is great!). The kickash basket seems to have more room around it so I took it out and went back to the grate for the time being for the long cooks.
Speaking of the grate, I was a bit tickled to see that the grate sits down inside the little groove there quite nicely. We'll see how much it that gap and the gap between the sections trap charcoal (that might even be a good thing).
Love that it's all one piece vertically, seems like I can fit tons of charcoal in there.

So far very pleased with it and believe it will solve the problems with cracking.
