    Kamado Joe
  1. Costco has pretty big/inexpensive tubs of Ghee. that's what I'd use!
  2. Oh nice!!!
  3. Is anyone using this on the Classic joe? I can't seem to find for sure if this will fit on it. I emailed the company and they said it wouldn't, but I see so many mentions of it on here, so wanted to get others experiences.
  4. Since i've been watching the schedule and waiting for a Chicago area stop to get some more charcoal, I thought I might not be the only one and thought I'd say so here. It's finally coming: Naperville 06/16 - 06/25 1320 South Route #59, Naperville, IL 60564 St Charles 06/16 - 06/25 221 S Randall Rd, Saint Charles, IL 60174-1524 North Riverside 06/30 - 07/09 2500 South Harlem Avenue, North Riverside, IL 60546
  5. I did end up with the flameboss! So far this thing is pretty amazing with how it handles temps.
  6. Nice, looks great!!
  7. I do use it without the grate. The only thing I do is shake out the basket, then put some new charcoal on top and then light.
  8. My biggest plus for the KAB is the cleaning aspect. Just shake out the coals, add some new and go. It really is nice. The other things NCJeff mentioned are just icing on the cake (for me).
  9. The KJ lump is a great price during the Costco roadshows. Check out here if one is near you: https://www.costco.com/kamado-joe-schedule.html
  10. I second the kick ash basket, and one of the best surprises of this whole experience to me has been the joetisserie. HIGHLY recommend it.
  11. My bacon turned out great too! It wasn't as salted as I'd like but nothing a little tweaking can't fix. I wish I had a meat slicer though, it's a pain to slice.
  12. I have one of these too. Works great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I've cooked in the rain a few times already! Seems to work fine for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. very nice!
  15. Oh wow, that looks great. Mine should be done curing tomorrow or Wednesday!
