  1. HillbillyBen....have you tried the grill dome extra small stand? I can't find dimensions for it and I'm concerned the Joe Junior may not fit. Thanks!
  2. Whenever I have cooked Boston Butts on my Kamado Joe Junior, I always buy them in the 8 to 8.75 pound range. Also, when I select a Butt, I pay attention to it's shape to make sure that it's "diameter" isn't too large to fit on the grate. I have cooked numerous (probably around 20) Boston Butts over 8 pounds and they don' take up too much room in the Jr and rarely to they interfere with the temperature gauge probe. But I don't use or rely on that temperature gauge anyway because I use a Flame Boss to monitor and control temperature. Depending on outside air temperature, the charcoal brand and chunk sizes as well as the composition of the meat itself, the Butts typically take between 13-15 hours and I have only had to add more charcoal ONE time. And, they have ALWAYS turned out perfectly. So, do not fear cooking a butt up to close to 9 pounds on your Kamado Joe Junior!
  3. Yes, “Tyler” Was the person from weekend barbecue store who handled my damaged KJJ stand issue. She was prompt, courteous, and made the situation right even at added expense for the seller. Very pleased with my KJJ. in fact, in the midst of a cook right now with my Flame Boss 300 managing things perfectly.
  4. Absolutely love my FlameBoss 300. It keeps the temperature very consistent in many KJJ. I don’t mind the new firmware update at all. While I don’t have control over that particular feature, in the big picture, it’s not a big deal at all because over the course of a 12 or 14 hour cook, it is negligible. The flame boss 300 allows me to do Long cooks and not have to be a slave to the grill. Last night put on a pork butt, watched some football, got a good nights sleep and didn’t have to worry about my cook because the Flame Boss took care of everything just perfectly. My brother-in-law has been using a Flame Boss 300 with his Kamado since Father’s Day and it has never failed him. Because I did not have an electrical outlet convenient to location of my KJ, I bought the rechargeable battery pack from Flame Boss. It works great! Highly recommended to Kamado owners!

  6. A few months ago, I ordered a KJJ from the same Amazon seller, Weekend BBQ Store. It arrived well packed, however, the wrought iron stand was bent on one of the iron rods where the grill sits. I contacted weekend barbecue store immediately and rather than make me ship the entire grill back to them, they sent me a replacement stand and even offered to do it with express shipping, all at their cost. Their customer service was excellent. If in fact you ordered your KJJ from the same seller, hopefully they will treat you as well as they treated me. Absolutely loving my KJJ!
  7. For the garlic and onion powder are you using more of the granulated form or the actual powdery firm? Just curious because sometimes the powder can clump a bit. Thanks!
  8. Soon there will be 3 of us using that table! Thanks!
  9. Looks great! Wish these were sold to the public. Beautiful.
  10. Mewantkj, how does that KJ classic stand work with the KJJr? Don't know what the "rails" look like that it would sit on. Is is really good and stable? Any downsides? Anything you can tell me would be appreciated. Thanks!
  11. Looks great. Did you buy that in-store or on WalMart online? Was it pre assembled? What materials is it made out of? and do you know it's height? I assume it's nice and sturdy and able to hold the weight of the Joe Jr and not risk toppling over when you open the lid quickly, etc? thanks, Talbert
  12. Look on Etsy. For example, JJ George can make whatever size you want. https://www.etsy.com/listing/483237393/big-green-egg-mini-max-table
