  1. Sounds like you are doing it right, probably will just be one random cook that got away from you.
  2. I have had the same experience as @EZ smoke. I have a K22 like yours, and added felt to the bottom & top vents. I don't have any problems keeping 225, but it is hard to get the temp back down if you overshoot. Were you able to get 225-250 before you installed the Flame Boss? Also, is the Royal Oak you are using lump or briquettes?
  3. My Spatchcocked Turkey.

I have a pair of these, work great: https://www.amazon.com/Kershaw-1120X-Taskmaster-Shears/dp/B0002IMMEW/ref=sr_1_21?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1513888916&sr=1-21&keywords=poultry+shears

My Pit Boss doesn't have a sweet rack system, dammit! Thanks for the response!
  5. My Spatchcocked Turkey.

Is your rack resting directly on the disposable pan? I have considered doing that, but I was worried about the pan collapsing.
  6. First Turkey on my boss

    Looks fantastic! Great job!
  7. Monoprice Sous Vide $48

Good catch, I came here to post the same, 14 hours too late! I would be in for one, but I bought the 8qt instant pot on black Friday. I am only up for learning one new gadget at a time.
  8. Help Needed!!!!

Here is a thread I made on sealing it up:
  9. Turkey setup

What did your deflector look like after that?

  11. Turkey setup

I am wondering how other pit boss owners (especially those with a 22") set up for indirect with a drip pan. I find that the lower grate doesn't have room for a large enough drip pan. When I smoked a turkey on saturday I had the spider with my heat deflector on top. Four 1/2" copper elbows on top of the deflector to create an air gap to prevent the drippings in the drip pan from burning. A 9"x13" pyrex on the elbows as my drip pan, and the lower grate holding the turkey directly on the pyrex. It worked pretty well, but I would love to use a disposable drip pan instead. What do my pit boss brothers do?
  12. Turkey warm up

It wasn't too overpowering, but I think I am going to go with apple on game day!
  13. Turkey warm up

Thanks! I used 3 chunks of hickory.
  14. Smoked a 16# Pilgrim's pride bird. I am responsible for cooking the Thanksgiving turkey for the in-laws & sister in law's family. 1st turkey on the pit boss. Used Meatheads recipe. Turned out pretty good!
  15. Monoprice Sous Vide $48

Looks like they are out of stock now. I sat on the fence too long...
