  1. I was just walking through my local Hy-Vee market in Lincoln, NE and saw these on sale. I had to take a second look to see if my 53 year old eyes were deceiving me. Needless to say, I got myself milk, eggs and a new Kamado I've been wanting to try for a long time. Happy early (Nov) Birthday to me !
  2. I'm about as new to this forum as one can be (Joined yesterday), but here is my two cents not adjusted for inflation. If there was a separate thread clearly labeled "Vendors" in some way, I'm fine with it. We can all choose to look at it or not as we see fit. If they happen to offer our subscribers some sort of offer or benefit, answer questions about their product, or solve customer problems directly, even better. From what I have seen so far, most of us do a lot of research on or own, or use this website and it's members for great advice. That's what this website is all about. My concern with other websites is getting unwanted pop up ads or unsolicited emails. I'm confident this would never happen here.
  3. Hello everyone: My name is John and I am about to retire from the Southern California rat race of clogged freeways and GAS grills and move to the Midwest. While the weather may not be the warmest, the people certainly are, and the beef and pork are plentiful !!!!! I have been wanting to take the plunge on a Kamado for some time, but found it difficult to find the time for a " low and slow " lifestyle. That will change soon and while doing my research for a Kamado, I came across Johns videos (and this forum). I have found them both extremely informative and entertaining. As of now, I'm leaning towards the Akorn, but I tend to get into "kid in a candy store" mode when in my local BBQ outlet. My wife has a way of snapping me out of it though. Funny how that happens. I look forward to learning a lot from you guys. Thanks for having here.
