Thank you! I'm having fun exploring and learning. Yeah, it isn't ceramic so I'm not surprised they don't tolerate high heat great. This one has some rough spots and will need some work to repair to a point where it could be used. 

Picked this up yesterday! Not sure what it is, but it is old. Got it from my SIL’s grandfather. 
 

If any of you recognize it I’d love some info. 
 

it’s got some rough patches but I’m hoping to patch it up and put it to use.
