  1. I have not made this recipe in a few years but that is changing. This stuff is like crack as a condiment. Just whipped up a fresh batch for a friend’s cookout. Doubled recipe so that I can freeze small batches for later use.
  2. Thanks for the inspiration. Dusted both of these with a healthy dose of Deez Nuts Pecan Rub and cooked indirect. Finished direct with one pork loin getting a honey Dijon glaze. Kids cleaned their plates...which I always count as a successful cook. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I have found little rhyme or reason on cook times. I routinely cook 2-3 8lb butts at a time and they all finish at different times. I have had 4 hour difference between butts on the same cook. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Not sure if this is the case everywhere, but the local Costco in Charlotte, NC has dropped their price on this kamado to $549. A great deal just got a lot better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Outstanding cook! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Had my Anova Precision attached to a cooler in my garage with a Tri Tip cooking. Came back out and the unit had fallen into the water and was submerged. Checked owners manual and the company says to not use these things again if this happens and suggests sending in for repairs. This seems a bit extreme, but wanted to check to see if anyone else has had this happen. If so did you just let it dry out and did it work again?
  7. I have not seen anything where Weber is confirming what is coming on April 4th, but I (and others on the forum) have contacted them about it. They would not admit it was a kamado, but they definitely alluded to that being the case. I told them I was in the market for a new kamado and they suggested that I wait to make this purchase in April as I would not be disappointed.
  8. That is a volatile question because you will get varying responses based on region. With that said, I prefer a vinegar based sauce but usually never sauce a butt and let folks sauce themselves when I am serving.
  9. Just thought I would share this posting for a used Bubba Keg near Charlotte, NC. $275 seems like a pretty good price. http://charlotte.craigslist.org/for/5497106114.html
  10. I have been using them for over a year and I have had no issue with them and I can't tell any difference from the name brand.
  11. I actually called and got more info. They will only be at Walmart.com and the price will be $149. I know some of us got them at the end of their last availability for $99, but that is still a great price.
  12. I had made an inquiry a while back to Chargriller to see if they had any old Akorn Jr inventory. They responded back to me today and said that the Junior is coming back and will be available in Walmarts in June 2016. They could not comment on price point, but at least they will be available again.
  13. Lots of folks here use them and love them. I primarily use mine on my gasser. I can't imagine not having them if you still use a gas grill. No hot spots and semi indirect cooking.
