I love my big joes, but I think it is silly to make a blanket statement that there is "NO ISSUE." I have had 3 sets of bands and hinges all with the same issue. I have 2 big joes bought at different times and both have an issue. I have even checked out other Bjoes at road shows and saw the same thing. I personally decide to not make anymore warranty claims as all it is doing is costing KJ money. I will wait until the new hinge is released and make a request. I have no desire of repeating the process of replacing hinges a 4th time until I know there is going to be a solution. Sent from my SM-T900 using Tapatalk

I would love to share Kamado style cooking with people here in salt Lake City, Utah. No one around here seems to know much about Kamado..

That is exactly what I have to do. I have enough strength to move a 10lb butt around with one hand while my girl doesnt. Plus, I'm used to it, she isnt. I've nearly dropped it before and am not willing to risk it with her Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

(1) You may be waiting for a while. (2) I would expect the MSRP to raise. There were no widespread major issues with the current hinge and bands. It seems that there was a production cycle that ran into issues. I have cooked on dozens of different Classics and BigJOE's that have had no issues. I was told that is exactly as you explained it. A bad run made it out of the factory. Unfortunately for me, it effected both my BJ's. They are both functional, but I won't let the girlfriend near them until it's fixed.Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Any updates?! I still have 2 leaky big joes. I can't wait to swap these out when they are finally released. I would even happily pay for them if they no longer plan to replace them under warranty. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

I've had nothing but bad luck with mavericks. Both 732 and 733. I will not be purchasing them again anytime soon. That is half of the reason I'm now looking at a stoker. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk -
you can still buy an RJ kamado?

Rob, ya think a Yeti could keep mudbugs alive for 10 days? OK, now that this thread is winding down.....This Northern boy has to ask.....................What the hell is a mudbug?????? Crawdad, Crawfish, etc.

If i could only have one, it would be the BIG Joe without a doubt. I do find myself wishing for a Joe Jr occasionally though. You will go through more charcoal with a BJ.
