  1. First cook on the XL BGE ... New York Strip and Tuscan Herb Potatoes with fresh Rosemary!! Tossed the potatoes in some Tuscan Herbed Olive Oil and roasted at 400 degrees in a black iron skillet for 2O min then tossed in the fresh rosemary and roasted for on other 30 min. Pulled the fries and throttled the egg up to 750 seared the steak for about 2 min a side. Delicious!! The wife was thoroughly impressed that it didn’t take any longer from lighting the first coal till dinner was on the table than it used to on the Weber gasser.. it was actually quicker! She was also impressed with dinner! I think she is sold!
  2. So , I joined this wonderful forum 3 years ago when I thought I was fixin to acquire a Vision Grills Kamado, I never did get the Vision, so after my first intro I lurked for 3 years waiting for the day. Well, I finally came across a screaming deal on an XL BGE and pulled the trigger. I can't wait to start adding it to my cooking repertoire while sharing my successes and failures on here.

    Howdy Y'all

I have been BBQing, Smoking, Grilling and cooking in general for family and friends all over the world for the last 30 years. Originally from Ga, MS, and SC I have spent the last 30 years either in the Air Force or as a Defense Contractor so I have BBQ'd some unique foods in some unique areas of the world and had to develop some unique equipment at times. Currently I call AZ home but hope to be moving to the Crystal Coast of NC before the heat hits here again this year! I got my love of pleasing people with great food from my grandfather in the Mississippi delta who would feed a large portion of the town with Smoked turkeys for Xmas and Spareribs for the fourth of July... with everything else in between. I have owned almost every type of smoker made except for a Kamado up till now and after looking at the Vision Classic at Sams Club the other day and spending most of today being inspired by by those on this Forum i have decided to take the leap very soon. I look forward to making some lifetime friends here and learning all the ins and outs of my latest tool to continue my passion!.
