    I got my Blackstone pizza oven as a gift for our anniversary this year in August and have had many pizza nights on it.  The pizza is fine, however no where near as good as on the KK.  There really is just no comparison, even though it is a lot quicker.  I made a bacon pineapple and a mushroom garlic blue cheese pizza. 

    I didn't take a picture of the pineapple one when it finished because the dome thermometer got it so it wasn't so attractive.... 
    Anyway, I'm sure I'll be selling my Blackstone soon.  Should probably get rid of my sous video machine too.  Both things that cannot live up to kamado cooking.

    Threw a steak on the grill with a few eggs.  Decided I wanted more of a sear on the steak, so threw it right on the coals.

    I thought I had posted my crab cakes, but cannot find it anywhere.  Sorry if this is a double post.
     
    crab meat, panko bread crumbs, egg, mayo, old bay, and my secret ingredient - smoked bacon mustard
     
    cooked in my cast iron on the KJ

    I fired up the wood oven tonight and broke out the new lodge skillets.  This cook took about an hour and it was a lot of fun.
     
    lemon pepper roasted spatchcock chicken and hassleback potatoes

    When I was a kid we had Oxtail Stew once a month because it was a cheap, inexpensive cut of meat. I made some a year ago as comfort food and was shocked to see how expensive it is now.

    I know that it’s not the first of its kind this month, but I definitely took a different spin on it.  I started by picking of a full beef heart.  The butcher was kind enough to cut it in thirds and vac seal them all.  I put it in the freezer for a few hours so I could slice it thin.  
    I ran my recipe past a friend that has some history in cooking from the area and he let me know that he liked it spicier than my recipe would be, so I changed it up a bit.  I used some habenero sauce, red wine vinegar, salt, pepper, garlic and cumin for the marinade.  I put the sliced heart in the marinade for 3 hours.
    I fired up the KJ nice and hot.  I sliced some potatoes and season up with salt and pepper and put them on indirect at 450.  I then added the skewers of meat.
    It turned out unbelievable.  I will do this again.  Especially since I have 2/3rds left!!!

    375f about 2 hours.  Hit heavy with black pepper and hymalayan salt.  Brushed every 30 min with a sauce of maple syrup, rice vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, salt, chilli powder, garlic, sesame oil and Chinese 5 spice.
     



     
    And we carved pumpkins tonight!

    Man we had a great time! Everyone in South Bend was so gracious and nice and the stadium was packed with UGA fans, almost half the stadium was im red and black. It's a beautiful campus and stadium. The crowd was electric and it was a great game!

    Hi Dub - FWIW, you can't see the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson AFB in one day. It's massively huge. My youngest Son lives nearby and we were there earlier this year. Wear dome confortable shoes and enjoy.
