Don't know where my picture went

One of the three WaltonMarkets within 20 min of me dropped their Akorn Jrs. down to $35 today. I don't need one let alone two but....I couldn't help myself. Figure one or both will make a nice gift(s) if I ever befriend someone deserving. Maybe the wife will finally convince me to get that RV and I can slap one in it. There were still 2 on the shelf when I left the Champaign, IL store at 7PM tonight if anyone is local and looking.

How did you for all of that onto two buns? Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk

If you have Meijer stores in your area, you might check there too. My local store had them on clearance for $249 yesterday.

Mom and pop grocery store a few towns over had whole ribeyes on sale for $6.99/lb as a memorial day special. They would also cut to your specs for free. Tonight, I slapped two on the Vision @300F with some taters. Once they hit 120F I pulled them, three some aspergrass on the half moon cast iron griddle and cranked the temp to 450F. Once up to temp, I seared them for 1 min a side and played everything up. Wifey, son and I only made it through one of them. We will probably make fajitas with The other tomorrow. Good stuff. Glad to have a lot more of them in the freezer. Gotta keep practicing, ya know.. Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk

You could just piece it back together and wrap it in foil again. I used a broken pizza stone as a deflector for over a year until I picked up the vision lava stones on clearance. Worked fine for me. Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk

You are following the same path I followed. I love my ceramic because it will last me forever but I think my akorn was more efficient. Unfortunately the akorn was rusting out after 2 years even with a cover. The vision classic B does hold temp better in my experience. Enjoy! Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk

Tip Top Temp for $19.99
BiddyK replied to wb.tarleton's topic in Char-Griller AKORN Kamado / King Griller
Purchased the TipTopTemp last week. After spending $8 on a 6" to 5" duct reducer and $6 on 10' of self-sealing silicone tape it is air tight on my Vision Classic B and I'm smoking my first overnight brisket. Been holding a constant grate temp of 247 F for 2 hrs now. So far so good. Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk -

280. You are a year off. My 2acres are in the middle of soybeans this year. Next year I will be back amongst the corn, which provides better protection from the wind -

Agreed but I am not sure I will fit under it with my Vision and gas burner. I definitely would not set this up in an open yard and expect to find it where I left it after a slight breeze. Luckily my patio is protected on 3 sides by the house (south- the direction from which the strongest winds come), 8' Privacy fence /divider (west & east- both within 10' of the grills) and my detached garage blocks most of the wind from the East on the rare occasion that is is blowing from that direction. But, just in case, any recommendations for anchoring it to a brick patio?
