That's a bummer. Why did you order it, if you don't mind me asking? I ordered the cordless version 4PM04, understanding that it is rated to cook an estimated 25lbs. I picked it up on sale for a bit more than $20, so it won't kill me if it doesn't work out. I figured if this smaller motor works good enough, then I could move the Big Joe for the heavier rotisserie cooks if needed until I pick up some pavers or something. I'm not sure how I'll get the Big Joe up on the pavers, but I guess I'll figure it out. The Big Joe was easy to slide on the granite, so I could do that if I wanted, but I prefer not.

I do have an interest in the One Grill Universal Cordless Battery Operated motor WITH AC Electric Adaptor. That might be low profile enough to work. It's about $30. I'd like to go with the more popular One Grill 13watt 50 lb load, but I don't know if that profile is that much smaller than the KJ motor I have. If anyone has the One Grill model 4PM05, could you measure it please?

Good morning. I dont know know how I could mount it with the cord up top as the spit rod would then prevent the lid from closing. I looked at the One Grill motors but they appear to be just as wide. I wonder though if the model I saw online could be installed upside down and work with the joetisserie. I might take a drive drive to the granite store to see if I could get my hands on some scrap granite. Mbellot - that looks identical to the granite that I have!

I have my Big Joe installed in an outdoor kitchen along with my Joe Jr. As such, I wasn't thinking of the height of the big joe joetisserie when working with the builder. The motor installs further down than I was hoping. I moved the Big Joe over to the right quite a bit to see if the motor would install but now I'm concnerned that the right side of the Big joe is too close to the granite side and countertop. Thoughts? Having the big joe off-center may drive me crazy when not cooking something with the joetisserie. I think I have a problem .

I ran with it for my brisket cook today. I smoked a 10 pounder, but failed to take one picture! I put it on at 1am last night, and pulled it around 3:30pm this afternoon. I had to foil it, was hoping I wouldn't have to but got nervous with the time. I pulled it probe tender at around 201. Turned out nice, but I am tired...and very full!!!!

I have some RunninWild Brisket Rub that I have in my pantry that I know I purchased more than a year ago. I also found a Honey Barbecue rub from RunninWild. Does anyone know the shelf life of these products? Thanks!

Brisket/Ribs/Sausage 'combo' cook
RedStick replied to jbrown's topic in Kamado Cooking and Discussion
I was thinking of doing the same. I picked up a brisket yesterday and have been thinking of how/when to throw down a rack or two of ribs. We are having some friends over Sunday, so I'll get the brisket going Saturday night I suppose. I'm also going with the Dutch's wicked baked beans recipe - always do when I prepare BBQ.
