My bad. The only experience I have with the Classic II is helping a buddy set his up. Thank you for clarifying @LargeRedJoe

Buc-ee's in New Braunfels
-
I did a vacation in Texas a few years ago. Highlight of the trip was my visit to Franklin BBQ in Austin. But I have to say, we sure did enjoy going to the Buc-ee's near our rental property often. It was the one off I-35 in New Braunfel's. I think it might have been the biggest one at the time. If it wasn't, and I'm wrong, I apologize, but it was massive.

My guess is that the newer gasket requires the latch in order to keep the lid closed.

How did you like HC Red? I have her HC Black, and it's growing on me. And I have such a crush on her....

It does "feel" out of alignment. I've owned it for 3 years now, and it feels off. I was also able to slip a credit card under the dome lid in the front. I'll loosen it back up and report back. Thank you!

No, I'll have to try that. The gasket is for sure shot at the back, though. Right at the hinge point. I noticed smoke pouring out the back last weekend, and today I noticed it was fully compressed and peeling back (inwards), I figure I would order a replacement soon. Just wondered if there any any tricks on lining everything up while doing a replacement.

I realize no one has replied in a year, but here's to holding out hope... I recently noticed one of the nuts had fallen off my Classic Joe's hinges, and when I replaced it, I figured I would tighten the bands. Well, once I did that, it closed a little off, and it seemed to be more open at the front and had definitely "smushed" the band at the back. Looks like after 3 years it's about time to replace my gaskets. Is there any trick to realigning the lid to the base? I think it may be off.

I have a friend looking to pick up the 2017 model, Classic 2. Our local Road Show, as you all saw, had the original model. Does anyone know if future road shows are going to be featuring the 2017 model? I know the price is going to jump, so that's not a concern.

Whoops! My mistake. You are correct.

My local Road Show is going on right now. The Junior is $399. The Classic is $779. Big Joe is $199, and a two pack of KJ Big Block charcoal is $29. Prices are in USD, and the location is Menomonee Falls, WI. As you can see, these are not the 2017 models.
