  1. Love your old smoked Mac n cheese recipe, looking forward to getting this recipe to try
  2. Welcome from Richibucto NB. No matter the brand of kamado theyn all follow the same principles so there's lots of great info on this forum. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  3. I enjoyed this cook, also did a few poppers with the leftovers.

  8. Nice! I wish I had ordered one of them instead of nomiku wifi that I will hopefully get some day.
  9. I've had my eye on a PBC for quite a while, looks delicious!
  10. Did that recipe a few weeks ago and was a hit. Didn't last long at all
  11. I've used Royal Oaks and the Primo brand before the Costco in Moncton, New-Brunswick started carrying Basques. Since then that's all I've used, I usually stockpile it before the winter so I'm good until spring. At 12.99 a bag you can't go wrong, the sizes are mixed like it's been said but I usually try to use that to my advantage. I never had any issues maintaining temp or anything. I'm thinking of trying the quebracho but having a hard time justifying more lump, lol. I've been having great luck and delicious food with Basques for the last 3 years anyway.
  12. That would look great sitting inside my Oval XL that's for sure
  13. I've only seen it done with bacon once but here a lot of restaurants and people still make it and it's always been with lard as the meat and as extra fat. Still haven't found one better then my grand mothers though
  14. Great to see another Acadian on the forum, Rape as we call it where I'm from is something I've been wanting to try on the kamado. I've never seen chicken used for one, usually it's either lard or bacon but definitely looks good!
  15. I just pre ordered the Wi-Fi version...not real sure Wi-Fi is necessary but might as well get the newer one for the same price.
  16. Looks great, I mostly use my oval xl but been using the keg quite a bit this summer and liking it so far. Might have to look into your mods if I can find a kamado Joe dealer to get them
  17. I have the same problem with the one on my Primo Oval xl. Sent in for warranty, haven't heard back yet.
  18. I love cattleboyz! Seen it but couldn't get it added to my cart for some reason from my phone
  19. Resistance bands bring up so many bad memories from rehab. I'd never use them! That said ... I do hope and pray your rehab has gotten you back to 100%! I can understand that, yeah my bands have brought me back to 100% and then some. I still use them instead of weights and between that and bodyweight exercises I can't see going back. Good luck with whatever you decide!
  20. I took a quick look at it and whatever you will enjoy and actually use is good. I've been using Bodylastic resistance bands and have rehabed myself from a head on collision with them and have had great results for a lot less money then the total gym and pretty well anything else on the market. I like them so much I bought a second set for when I'm away working.
  21. I have a primo oval xl that I always use and then i picked up a big steel keg on clearance last fall which I might fire up for the first time today. Bought it more for being able to transport it if needed or like mentioned already, cook something at different temps.
  22. I never seen the Jack Daniels edition but don't think there's anything major that would make getting a normal xla deal breaker. I bought mine the year before they had the JD edition and didn't see anything to name me regret me decision when it came out
  23. Things are always harder to find in Canada it seems, but I actually found a place this morning that does carry them so will be checking them out this weekend :-)
