  1. Actually pork shoulder at $3 a pound is terrible as you loose approx. half the weight after smoking them. I just did one the other day that started out at 9 lbs and ended up with 4 1/2 lbs of pulled pork. so that $3 per lb quickly became $6 per lb. Luckily I got mine on a buy 1 get 1 free sale at Kroger for $2.50 per lb thus cutting the price to $1.25 per lb. before smoking them.
  2. I have pulled rocks and all sorts of trash out of my lump no matter the brand. Stuff gets missed when they are loading up the bags.
  3. I saw on a crossbow forum where a guy working on a $2000 bow used the one on the right side and almost destroyed his bow tying to torque down his screws with it.
  4. I would recommend that you light that Classic back up and burn it off well before cooking on it. Let it get to 500 to 700 degrees then shut it down.
  5. I am fully vaccinated with 2 doses of Moderna. I had pain at the injection site on both shots and a slight headache the day after the 2nd shot but not enough to even take an aspirin for. I am planning a month long saltwater fishing trip to celebrate.

  9. The rules should be the same as any other thread on the forum. If someone gets out of hand have a moderator issue a warning to them and if they persist then ban them for a while. If they come back and do it again ban them for life. And btw John. As a Revenue Agent for 34 years of my life I think I know people fairly well plus I was a moderator for another forum for several years.
  10. I don't understand why someone would take offense at a thread and ask it to be closed down just because THEY don't like it. It is their choice to read it or ignore it. It is called personal choice.
  11. I have been hoping to see this brought up as I also miss this thread and have sort of been ignoring this forum since it has been deleted. I vote to bring it back.
  12. I smoke 2 or 3 every year and bag and freeze the slices in 1 lb bags for sandwiches later. I do mine with hickory on my Akorn Kamado.
  13. If they accept Paypal I would use it as you can always get your money refunded.
  14. If there is no ID on my phone I simply don't answer and it goes straight to voice mail. If my blocker IDs it as a scam it gets blocked. I am not receiving near as many as I used to.
  15. Depends on if you squat down to pick it up or just bend over where it counts as a toe touch!
  16. I agree with John as I did one a while back close to 400 and it was a little dry when finished, I should have wrapped it.
  17. I forget that I even have a dome thermometer when I am cooking. I don't think I have even looked at it in several years now.

  21. I usually just do my butts at 300/325 degrees and they cook a lot faster and no stall to speak of. Not much if any difference in taste and a firmer bark.
  22. Mine only leaks where the wires from my remote goes through and usually not even there. Take your fingers and pinch and gently roll the gasket all the way around and it should stop leaking. You will not find a better gasket on the market.
