I have been staring at my cast iron griddle for weeks now. I've had it seasoned and ready to go, but the weather has been a factor, as has starting my new job. But today, SWMBO 'forced' me to fire up the KJ and get cooking. For those that know me, this cook was pretty much decided upon by the contents of my fridge! Burgers and grilled chicken for SWMBO are on the menu!! Disclaimer: I was so excited to cook that I took pictures with my phone instead of my camera and so the pics are up to my standards but good enough to follow the cook The set up, since the lid is left open, I kept the bottom vent completely closed: Beautiful crust developing on those burgers. The burgers were seasoned with S&P, garlic powder and chopped onions. I dropped a little bit of butter on the griddle and flattened the burger on it to develop a crust (similar to a smash burger): Grilled chicken breast cut in half, seasoned with EVOO, lemon juice, S&P, and Oregano for SWMBO: Threw on some red onions: Don't forget to toast the buns: And the money shot. The burgers were topped with a little homemade simple Guac. (Avocado, lime juice, onion, tomato and garlic): This was a fun way to cook and very therapeutic after such a busy week and of course, it's also very satisfying when the family lick their plates clean!! LOL
