  1. Hey just got my Big Joe last weekend and have used it 3 times so far for chicken, pork shoulder with some roasted potatoes and stuffed jalapenos, and some NY Strips. Loved them all but I want to keep my grill nice and can't seem to find the best cover for it. What is the recommended cover for the Big Joe? I do not have a table but will build one hopefully this fall, just need something to cover the grill in the mean time. Any help is appreciated.
  2. I have been smoking for a while and have several grills, but I'm fairly new to Kamado Joe. I am including some photos of the difference in temperature between my dome thermometer and the Thermapro that I am using to monitor the grill. Is this difference normal? Which one is more likely to be correct? This is not the largest difference I've seen and it makes a big difference on how the meat will cook depending on which one is correct. The Thermapro probe is attached to the grill just in front of the meat.
  3. So a while back Bobby popped onto a thread and said he was sending me a KJBJ. I found out about it when everyone else did (and was as surprised as anyone else!) I sorta couldn't believe it, but he did exactly what he said he was going to do. (Thank you). (kettle included as a size reference) You know what else is cool? Many manufacturers have conditions or requirements tied to stuff like this. Kamado Joe has asked me for nothing but my home address. Shows a lot of confidence in their product. More pics to come soon. My son can't wait to put this together.
  4. 2, 10 pound Wagyu briskets, 2 racks of spares, 3 grills, lots of friends = great Saturday! I've been wanting to do this comparison forever. I think the results are probably not all that surprising but it was a fun cook regardless. I realized after I filmed all this that I'm a lot more serious in this one than usual. I think it's just a byproduct of being "in the zone" trying to knock all this out before folks arrived. I'll make some fart jokes in the next one or something to even things out.
  5. A few days ago I ordered an Elite cover for Big Joe after seeing their site online and on the recommendation of several members here at Kamado Guru. I got the cover shipped to my door for what a Kamado Joe cover retails for and am very happy with my purchase. The box came in the Mail and was well packaged and in good order. These covers come with fasteners to keep the cover secure in the wind, a rear vent to allow moisture out and away from the Kamado, and are made of heavy denier material. The cover went on Big Joe as soon as I got it and it fits like a glove. Thanks to those who steered me in this direction.
