Hello all, I'm new to the forum and to Kamado grilling. Being a big fan of my friends' BGEs, especially steak and smoked Boston Butt, I really wanted to get into it. Just purchased a Brickmann Trailmaster Pro Ceramic grill from BJ's for $399 + tax. I haven't put it together yet, but looking forward to starting something awesome. -S

Here it is folks... a really great Eastern North Carolina Style BBQ Sauce Recipe! Ingredients: 4 cups apple cider vinegar 1/4 cup brown sugar 4 teaspoons salt 2 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper 1 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon hot sauce Mix the ingredients together and make sure the salt and sugar has dissolved completely. Store in the fridge for 12-24 hours before use. Serve at room temperature! This sauce also makes a fantastic mop/baste for pork while it's cooking. Video:

To keep from using up all my space ( this is a long recipe ), I'm going to post a link to my blog where you'll find the whole big of it. This is my Secret Family Recipe for Eastern Nawkalina Style Pulled Pork Barbeque. My parents were from the heart of NC barbeque country and this is what I picked up through the years. I've added a few enhancements but you can omit or double anything to suit your taste. I have not adjusted anything to fit the Akorn yet. Still experimenting and fine-tuning. No complaints yet (except the neighbor called the Fire Department, seriously), but comments and suggestions are welcomed.
