Hello Again ~ After much searching, reading, and scrounging around here and other sites in the BBQ / Kamado Web World, I boldly went where I had feared to go for close to 10 years. The precious Kamado that I inherited from my parents - and fought with a sibling to get - received a long overdue touch up. I realize how fortunate I am to have this amazing Imperial Kamado #3. - perfect in all ways except the external finish and no gaskets - yet. After a good cleaning, I used high temp engine paints to create a finish that is inspired by what I think it looked like when my parents purchased it from the Pachinko Palace way back when. I did take photos along the way. I dabble in the art world, and really like to DIY, so this was a really fun project. These are the before and after photos. (I posted the before when I joined a while back.)
All I know about them is they were made in the 1970s. The distributior at the time was Pachinko Palace out of Sacramento CA. They were made in Japan, and the model size #0. If anyone has any additional information as to color choices, years of manufacturing please let me know.
