Loose Lower Vent

Recommended Posts

Good man!   Learn to use it as is for now.

It can be a factor of many things like wind, lump type and size, how much lump is loaded etc.

My recommendation to you is load up the charcoal (lump) almost to the 3 tabs.  Lighting, depending on what you want to cook, large cotton balls soaked in 99% rubbing alcohol.  Use 1 to 2 in the middle to light for low and slow.  For high heat, I light at least 4 in a square pattern in the middle maybe spaced 4 to 6 inches apart.  :)

There are a lot of topics on this, different ways to do but this works for me.  Oh and it's ALWAYS windy where I live so it's up and downs for me but pretty steady most times.
