This has been my go to pork butt rub recipe for 20 years.  It's six simple ingredients that causes everyone that has had my pulled pork to mark their calendar for when their next opportunity is to come over and eat it again.

Amount for an 8 lb butt:

1/4 cup black pepper

1/4 cup paprika

1/4 cup turbinado sugar

2 Tbsp coarse salt

2 tsp dry mustard

1 tsp cayenne pepper

Here is the entire recipe in video format:

How hot does the 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper make the pulled pork? Is it noticeable? Would kids who do not like spicy foods think that this rub tasted hot? Thanks.
