What everyone's favorite meat thermometer

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at buying the Maveric ET-733 long range dual probe meat thermometer. The one I have now is ok but it has meat settings that can't be changed. There are really good reviews for the Maveric but thought I would check and see what everyone's thoughts were befor I order?

Cheers

Hahaha no the one I have isn't a maverick. It's a different brand that doesn't allow changing the presets. Looking at buying a maverick.

The "Meater" looks promising.

The Maverick seems to be the standard.

The Tappecue looks very interesting.

Are you looking for both meat and pit temps?

Wireless?

For the price of some of the thermometers you could have a full pit controller like the Qmaster Senior

Im probably gonna get a 4 probe Meater and the Qmaster Senoir......

You could also just make a heatermeter.

So many choices

I have the ET 733 and its great!  I think this probably applies to all probes but I wouldn't rely on the probes for done temps just for guidance and use an instant read for final accurate temp readings.  The range is good on the ET 733 but I haven't really tested it.  I put some shrink tubing around the top of the probes to help eliminate the chance of water ruining the probes.  Great product for the $$.

Yeah the igrill2 does look good! Not overly keen on having to it connected to my phone though. If it had a stand alone receiver I would probably get one.

I think the ET-733 is the way I'm going to go.

I got the ET-733 a couple of months ago and it's been awesome. I can set it up and then go inside and keep working whilst I can see exactly what is happening in the grill. I use one for the grill rack and the other for the meat on low and slows. Cleans up nicely and very reliable. I think you will be happy if you decide to buy one.
