GoFrogs91
Got the new 19" delivered today in the harvest gold pebble and it is awesome! I love the pebble tile. I will spare everyone all of the opening pics and focus on some comparison shots between it and my 23". Close up of the tile. Bosco, you are going to love it when you see yours. Next are a bunch of comparison shots. And settled in to her new spot. Benton jrow17, oldirtyewok, wilburpan and 12 others

Marty
WOW that is an amazing yard and an awesome pair of KKs. I had never noticed the four lines in the dome. I see it on both of your KKs. Do you have any idea what it is for?
wilburpan
I believe those lines are grooves that help the KK grill deal with expansion from heat when cooking something. There are similar lines in the bottom half of a KK grill. Alternatively, they could be left over from the casting process, and don’t have any real function. That’s a great looking set up, Benton! Just be careful not to step back too far to admire your new KK 19” when cooking. CeramicChef
bosco
Benton the gasser.... Totally get it. Yours is built in so not going anywhere. I just parted with a very expensive gasser as it was just going to rot in the yard. I got nothing for it but ultimately it was the right choice to get rid of it. I love charcoal and Kamado cooking is the only way for me. I will never own an offset or stick burner of any sort as my wife would lose it with something that big in the yard. So I figured why not spend the money now and enjoy it for years to come. On a side note if you rip that gasser out.... A 32" kk wouldn't look too bad there. Just sayin Craneguy

There are similar lines in the bottom half of a KK grill. I believe you are right about being expansion grooves. They seem to only be in the interior "stucco" layer not actually down into the inner core but I could be wrong about that. wilburpan
GoFrogs91
Funny Wilbur. My family would love that! Bosco, the 32" is just way too much real estate for me. I think I'm good. wilburpan
