Oly Smokes
Hey guys, Here's another new item I just got delivered today. I thought it would be worth a try. Up until now I've always used the kj fire starters. They work just fine but you only get 24 in a box and I go thru them pretty quickly. I don't remember what those cost off the top of my head. But I ordered these from a company called Rutland. They look exactly like the kj starters. But for only 20 bucks you get 144 in this box. That's hard to pass up. This should last quite a long time. Smoke and Awe
I use those too and for my smaller kamado cut them in half. I'm on my second box. Marty

280sport
Mapp torch for me... Mapp or mapp pro isn't much hotter than propane unless mixed with oxygen. The torch head flame pattern makes the biggest difference. ckreef and CeramicChef

tinyfish
Nice score. I would also cut mine in half for low and slow cooks. I used to get mine from the dollar store, 12 for a $1.

SmoovD
I use them all the time. I have found them to work well and they can be found on Amazon at a decent price. Marty
jrow17
That's what ive been using for a couple of years I always order the big box. I also use a mapp torch for those fast weeknight cooks.
RedStick
I'm on my second box. Â I found it easier to use these rather than getting my mapp torch out, etc.
J-Do
I use these all the time. Fairly comparable to the KJ brand, but a lot more per box.

That function is due to the head, not the gas. Marty
