packer01
I guess it is safe to say that not many neighbours have outdoor cats or dogs on leashes in the backyard!!! Wow

keeperovdeflame
Geez Louise! Is that a cougar/bobcat at the left edge of that photo? CC, At first, I would say a Bobcat, but in looking at the picture it looks like that cat has a spotted tail. Maybe that is the inside of his rear leg, I am seeing. It is about the size of a Bob Cat, but we have both Mountain Lions and Bob Cats in the area. We see both in the neighborhood. Some folks claim to have even seen Mexican Grey Wolves on their properties. The range of Mexican wolves was recently enlarged to include Az. I have not seen one, myself. magician, CeramicChef and Dub

keeperovdeflame
CC, I checked some photos, It's a Bob Cat, in some photos they have what looks like spots at the end of a short tail and the inside of the leg and belly is spotted. keeperovdeflame
Any one who leaves a cat or dog out and unprotected here, does not have a cat or dog for very long. Folks have covered dog runs with small link chain link on both the sides and covering the top as well , so their pets are completely inside a cage. Generally these runs are built along side the garage with a doggie door leading from inside the cage to the garage, so a frightened pet can escape inside. Yeah, I look closer and there is nothing about that tail that says Cougar. But even a bobcat strolling around your property mid day is a little unsettling, especially if you have a doggie or kitty door! keeperovdeflame
A mountain lion's tail is very distinctive. Basically, it looks like an anchor rope on a large ship. It is about that thick and sticks straight out behind the animal and parallel to the ground. Nothing else out there has a tail quite like it. Yep. Here's a pic off of Google that shows what the spotted area is. Dub, CeramicChef and JeffieBoy
