Quick question

Thanks; that's it. Makes a helluva lot more sense than gravity, friction and the weight of the cooker holding the stand together as I initially assumed.

Looks like I have one bad hole, but I can make it work with 3 screws as the only time this thing is gonna move is if I buy a new house!

That's kind of funny, I have those screws as well ( and wondered where they went).  What I don't have is holes to put them in!!!  No way to attach the top and bottom of my big Joe stand together.

Agreed, my big joe has no holes and did not come with screws...its  gravity only....

My Big Joe stand has holes, and when I unwrapped it there were little rubber pieces stuck in them. I thought they were meant to "snug" the connection between the top and bottom parts of the stand (which they do). I was partway through my first cook before I found the screws in the gripper box. I realized right away what they were for, but I've never put them in. Seems like it would just about take an earthquake to jostle it hard enough to cause the stand to come apart. I figure if I have a catastrophe big enough for that to happen, I'm probably going to have MUCH bigger things to worry about at that time.

My Big Joe stand was exactly the same way.
