DXM12
Has anyone successfully opened a dome lid that's frozen shut? Any tips would be appreciated, thanks.

rythememan4
Yeah on low. Open the vents it possible Sent from my SM-G360T1 using Tapatalk
rythememan4
It's not designed to be heated from the outside . So take it slow. Put the blanket on for like 15 mins at mostSent from my SM-G360T1 using Tapatalk
rythememan4
Don't force any thing. Things get brittle when they are coldSent from my SM-G360T1 using Tapatalk
rythememan4
And don't fold the blanket. A folded electric blanket plugged in can cause a fire. So just like you said lay it over the dome. Protect any plastic like a temp gauge with a oven mit or something. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using Tapatalk
HCOJ
Drop a couple pieces of hot lump through the top opening. JoeC, Ben S, Stinga and 1 other

BSA
See, we do get freezing weather around here. Don't rush the process or your gaskets may pull off. DXM12

Wanted to take advantage of the sunshine and throw some ribs on, but maybe I'll defer to a different day as I would hate for that to happen. BSA
Maybe a hair dryer might work.

The cause of your "stuck together" situation is most likely moisture frozen in the gasket material. I would just use a hair dryer pointing the air flow directly at the gasket. If the springs and hinge assembly have any indication of ice I would also hit them with warm air from the hair dryer. When the top starts to lift, be careful as I think you could shred some of the gasket if parts come free while some remain stuck together. Good Luck.
