Vanole

Hello from Virginia

Recommended Posts

Thank-you for acceptance into the group.

Have been cooking with a Kamado (Kikuya Hibatchi Pot) since 1977 which I bought while stationed in Japan. Since that time I have added 2 LBGE's and a Primo Oval XL. I will go ahead and take the walk of shame, and admit I have a couple of gassers and charcoal grills hanging around.

Even though I have been cooking on a Kamado for quite a while this old dog is not adverse to taking aboard the numerous tips and techniques that the fine cooks on this forum pass along.

@Vanole - welcome to Kamado Guru and welcome (belatedly) to The Addiction!  My first kamados were a couple of BGEs, then a couple of Primos, and now a couple of Komodo Kamados.  Great cookers all.  When I got my first BGE, I kicked my stick burner and gasser to the curb and have strictly been burning lump ever since.

We look forward to your posts.  Would love to see pics of your KHP!

Vanole, glad to have you with us, as it sounds like you could possible teach us some things (Its like Tin Cup's statement about golf "perfection is unobtainable" but we all try and then try again) I cook on a large BGE and unashamedly on a Weber Summit gasser. For quick cooks like fish and such I can't see taking all the time to fire up the Egg. However, I usually use the Egg at least 2 or 3 times a week. Happy Cooking. Enjoy the forum conversation.
