GreenToRed
I added a grill light to the handle of my KJ, now my lid is out of balance so it won't stay open. Anyone know how to rebalance it? Thanks.

Ben S
Great question. My KJC arrives tomorrow, this is the type of question many will be able to answer in 6-12 months. For now the hinge is still a baby in the wild. Have you reached out to kJ support ?
ckreef
Readjust the hinge spring tension (with the light attached). Same procedure for when the hinge spring "loosens up". Which it will eventually. There has been a post or two outlining how to do this. Search for something along the lines of version II dome won't stay open. I've read the post(s). It was a simple procedure I just don't remember exactly because I don't own a KJ.
AndyB
I think there are instructions in the manual that comes with it explaining how to adjust the hinge. ckreef

Rak73
It is in the booklet that comes with it. Easy to do, when you are looking head on into the grill with the lid open, there is a nut at the back of the grill on the hinge. Simply give that nut a couple of turns clockwise and it will tighten to whatever is your preference is. ckreef and CeramicChef
