Riblet Night

Recommended Posts

saw em on sale, figured why not? should be like the rib's cousin, right?

made up my standard, sweet rib rub, have em on at 250. not real sure how long it'll take, but they're not real thick, so guess I should start checking after about an hour or so. will make up a glaze here soon to hit them with at the end, and hopefully have a meal. planning to add in a stuffed portabella cap, with some grilled/smoked watermelon to chase it all down with.

That all looked real good, what was the watermelon like grilled?

you know, it was good. drizzled some honey on there, too. still, I think I'm a sucker for the original cold melon with salt.

Ckreef and I have bought an grilled the riblets.. Just dosent have enough meat.. And a bit tough which I thought. How was yours?

For the price, it was a good deal. And mine were a bit tougher than I'd hoped, but thought that was maybe an indication of me not being patient enough to let the thing settle in on heat. It shot up on me a little bit early on so went hotter, initially, than was wanted.

Taste was spot on -- I love my rub, which brings sweet and heat at the same time, and the smoke carried through really well.

Try drizzling a little maple syrup on the watermelon after you take it off the grill!B)
