Brickbat
I am wondering how other pit boss owners (especially those with a 22") set up for indirect with a drip pan. I find that the lower grate doesn't have room for a large enough drip pan. When I smoked a turkey on saturday I had the spider with my heat deflector on top. Four 1/2" copper elbows on top of the deflector to create an air gap to prevent the drippings in the drip pan from burning. A 9"x13" pyrex on the elbows as my drip pan, and the lower grate holding the turkey directly on the pyrex. It worked pretty well, but I would love to use a disposable drip pan instead. What do my pit boss brothers do?

THEdexaTRON
On my test run last Sunday, I didn't use a drip pan. I had the legs down on the deflector and just put the grate on top of that. I have a 22" also. If I had the legs up and used a drip pan, my pan is taller than the legs so the grate would have been sitting on that. Brickbat
What did your deflector look like after that?
THEdexaTRON
I don't have a pic of it, but it really wasn't too bad. I have since cooked on it and I flipped the deflector over and had the legs up and burned off all the gunk on it. Brickbat
