Anyone seen these yet?  Just noticed on the Costco website today, wondering if the in store models are blue as well?  That may derail my plan of buying a Pit Boss this year, because it won't match the deck.  I think looks much the same as last year's otherwise, except for the side shelves. My Costco doesn't have much lawn and garden yet.

Blue...  while we do see 3 different versions at costco.ca  if you scroll down into the product details it says "This item, in black only (item #1031588), may currently be in stock at your local Costco warehouse for immediate purchase at a cash and carry price."

So if im right its prob a hit or miss on what colors your going to see depending at which costco you go to.

Our costco.ca site also says its on back order until end of March.

That's a really great deal on a 24" grill.

agreed!  after seeing and doing some homework on the PB kamado... as much I love the KJ  the PB at half the price that comes with the deflector and a cover along with a limited lifetime warranty.. hard to beat!

The side shelves are actually the same as last year.  They changed last year to the HPDE plastic shelves from the bamboo ones.  I actually prefer the plastic ones due to my previous one with bamboo started to discolor to a black color with the use of a cover.    Keep in mind Pit bosses 24 inch is measured on the outside diameter of the grill and not from the inside like BGE or KJ.  In essence it is a 22 or so inch interior diameter grill rather than a true 24 like the others.  Can make getting accessories a bit tricky due to sizing as well as for me personally, I would sometimes like the additional space.

That said, its a good compromise between an 18 and 24.

Odly enough I just noticed that the lowes model comes with different shelves.    their a full one piece bamboo shelve vs Costco having the ones pictured

I think that is just an old picture.  I know that Dansons who makes the Pit Boss grills changed the design of the grills from the bamboo shelves.  That was one of the changes last year.  Bamboo shelves became plastic which is better IMO, the firebox split went to the front instead of the back, spark arrester screen over lower air opening, and slight change in hinge design.

If the last 2 years are any guide, this will appear in stores for $599 for about 2 months, then, if any stock remains, drop to $399, which is what I paid for mine in 2016.

Yep, that's my plan!

Still rolling with my 2016 model and love it. Even at the full retail Costco price of $749 you won't go wrong. Patience is key for the end of season clearance pricing and nothing is guaranteed. Last year I checked the (2) Costco's near me and they sold their inventory in-season and NEVER got to the mark-down. With that being said the in-store price was $599.

There are still a number of Walmarts around me with last year's 22" pit boss for $349. Less grill area than the 24", but an outstanding deal. I believe they started at $599 or $699.

I do like the blue glaze on the new 2018, but I will keep my black because it works.

That's awesome i had checked the Wal-Mart's near me last fall and it didn't seem like any had ever stocked the Pit Boss kamado. I was also trying to find a cheap Akorn Jr, but they just stayed full price all winter.  But at Costco last July they definitely discounted them by $200 for a time.

      Hi Everyone,

I just want to say hello, I am new to the Kamado world and just picked up my first ever Kamado today. I got a Kamado Joe Classic II, and I am super excited to use it! I was able to pick it up at a Costco Roadshow, which I've read tons about and knew that they offered the best deals on the KJ. I've attached a photo of the current roadshow prices if anyone is interested. This was the Costco Roadshow in Glen Mills, PA (about 40 minutes outside of Philly). It is running there until 07/22.

Again I just wanted to say hello and that I am super excited to get into Kamado cooking and being on the forums for new cooking ideas!

Picked up a 6.75lb flat at Costco. Seasoned with salt pepper garlic onion powder, used mustard to help the rub adhere. Fired up at 7 this morning, settled in at 250 with some cherry on there, brisket went on at 830. Stalled HARD at 165 from 11-6, then zoomed to 195-200 by 7. Found a couple spare ribs at the store and tossed them on at the same time, they finished around 330.

Ribs came out great. Brisket came out pretty darn good. Rub was a bit too salty, I’ll have to scale that back. Some areas around the outside were a bit crumbly, and it could have been juicer, but I’ve paid for worse brisket at “bbq” restaurants. Needless to say, bark formation was on point (on flat?).

Dont remember where I saw it here, but I wrapped a sweet onion with foil, and put a couple pats of butter on it, left it in the grill for the last 6 hours, 10/10 would recommend, will do this every time I fire up from now on.

Hi, I wanted to get some feedback regarding which grill to get. I have boiled it down to a few options:
      1) Primo round all-in-one $800
      2) Pit boss k24 from Costco $599
      3) Used BGE $800

The pit boss is considerably cheaper at $599, and I hear in August they usually go on clearance for $350. As primo owners, I was hoping to get some feedback on after owning the primo, do you believe it is still worth the premium? I have read some people have had issues with Primo honoring their warranties, so that is a concern as well. Would you buy the Pit Boss knowing what you know today? Or would you still fork up the extra $ for the primo? Are there any large differences between the design and quality of the aforementioned brands? I really appreciate any help you may be able to offer. Thanks!

This past weekend, I did a spatchcock chicken on the Pit Boss.  It was some of the juiciest chicken I've had and it came out really good.

Howdy. My better half approved the purchase so I hit the roadshow here in Indianapolis today.
      1,499.99 for the Big Joe
      219.99 for the Big Joetisserie
      21.99 for 30lbs of lump

      Details:
They had 5 Big Joetisserie. By the time I left at 5pm, there was 1 left. Rep said they only got in 5.  Looks like they only had 2 or so of the classic Joetisserie as well.
I had to work at 9 so didn't get to take part in the great race for "The Deal", but at least two were waiting to try to get the deal at 9 when the club opened.
Rep helped me load it up. And by help, I mean he did most of the work. Rep was great and everything survived well.
That's a scion XB that it loaded in. Those black boxes have a ton of space, and there was extra room. I should have gotten more lump and probably will go back for more since it is 10 more pounds for 5 bucks less than what Lowes carries.
Used a garden cart and two neighbors to get it to the back deck and into the cart. That was way easier than we expected.

And now I owe my neighbors BBQ for helping. Oh darn.
