bicho6
In the next few days I will be moving to a new home and I was hoping to get a few tips from people who have moved their Joe. Any recommendations?
Never L8 4 chow
Dealer delivered mine in the nest, strapped down in the back of a lawn trailer. I was horrified, but it worked. Here are some other thoughts from the forum. Good luck, and don’t hurt yourself. https://www.kamadoguru.com/topic/25726-easiest-way-to-transport-a-big-joe/#comment-343317 https://www.kamadoguru.com/topic/34073-transporting-a-classic-joe/#comment-447400
Charles Wagon
invest in a pot lifter. You and a buddy (or spouse, neighbor, task rabbit...) can easily lift and move the joe. i bought one from amazon for about $20-25. you could also remove the dome and easily carry/move the joe in pieces. the base is not particularly heavy, just awkward/cumbersome to move solo. if you pick up the base from the inside, with purchase through the ash door, it's easy-peasy. i assume you're talking about a classic and not a big joe. i'd use lots of moving blankets during transport in your truck/car/van to avoid damage. good luck!
