I didn't, only because i have 2 thermapens (won one of them on a facebook contest couple years ago. 

 

Got this particular model for WFO because it reads temps up to 1400f (where my existing IR only goes up to 600f) and i'm not sticking my hand inside of a 900f WFO with the probe lol

  It's no doubt a handy unit! 

I use it mainly to check cast iron for proper temp.

   It also helped me find leaks in our duct work in the attic.

Although I will say when putting two meat probes in the same chunk of meat from the same unit you can get some weird readings.

Since then I've always split my probes between two units.

     Let me know if you experience the same.
