Looks great!  Invest in a belt sander and it will help you tremendously...sanded my dual table over 84" x 35" in less than an hour.  I think you can pick up a cheap-o (SKIL brand) from Walmart if you don't have one already for about $30 + belts @ 3 for $5. That wood, I would start with about 80 grit and work up to about 400 and you will probably be happy with it.  I took mine up to 800 grit, but for most that's probably overkill.

Great thanks for the advice! Father in law is lending me his but not sure about what to use so your numbering is a big help. Thanks!
