Really Big Boy in the Back Yard:

Recommended Posts

I was cooking pizza tonight, and right after dinner this guy, along with a couple does and some bachelor bucks, walked into the back yard. He is probably the biggest muley we have seen on the property this year. I have seen bigger deer in the back yard but not this year.

When we first moved here about 11 years ago, and I started cooking on the deck, I thought the smoke would frighten the deer and send them running. Not the case at all, in fact they have gotten pretty used to me cooking out there ,and don't pay much attention to me at all, although this big buck was pretty skittish. You don't get big by being careless.

The white tails behind my townhouse are the same. They ignore me and will be about 8 feet from the edge of the deck, which is 8 feet up. About 11 feet away based on what I learned in high school geometry eons ago.

So your actually using what you learned in high school  geometry in a real life situation. My teachers always said I would, but I never quite believed them.

Yes, with the help of Excel. I don't know how to calculate square roots.
