Baked Apples a la mode

Recommended Posts

Here is my Sweets For Your Sweetie entry. A very simple recipe but tastes fantastic and very sweet.

The basic ingredients.

Made an apple juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon sauce. Not to thick. Set aside to cool.

Next I made a crumble topping.

Cut up the apples. Divide the sauce between the bowls. Add the crumble topping. I made three slightly different versions.

Bake indirect at 350* until the crumble topping browns up.

Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Very sweet for my sweetie.

@ckreef Looks good. About how long to they take at 350?  Is this something you would cook after the entrée, or would you cook it with the entrée? In other words does it need to cool while you were eating the entrée? Thanks!

Very nice, my sweety would like this cook as well. Like a pie without the crust, I just love baked apples. Reminds me of my grandma's kitchen every time I smell them cooking.

Sort of like an apple pie but the sauce didn't stiffen up the filling like it would be in an apple pie. Tastes about the same and the crumble topping gave it a crunchy top.

About an hour at 350*. It does need to cool a little bit so you could cook it with the main entree.

Wow!  That’s an awesome entry!  Looks amazing.  I’ll have to try this one sometime soon. I bet the kids would love it.

Definitely a kid friendly desert.

Wanna bet?

Certainly looks great to me, good job!

Super sweet apples with ice cream - what's not kid friendly?  But the confused smiley sort of explains it.
