Brandon Store 130 Posted October 25 My gasket peeled, it still seems to be in good shape. What type of glue should I get to reseat it? Is there any types of glue that I should never use?
LargeRedJoe 1,605 Posted October 25 What kind of gasket? Old felt style or the new mesh gasket?

Red&Blue Kamado 4 Posted November 8 Brandon, Would you mind sharing if everything worked out fine for you? I have a Classic II and am in the same situation: part of the mesh gasket on the base of the Joe has come loose but still looks fine other than that: is Permatex Copper the way to go? Any word of wisdom before I do it? Thank you, Stefano 1 Brandon Store reacted to this
Brandon Store 130 Posted November 8 Absolutely. Do it. It worked out great for me. You dont need to use a lot. I just did a stripe around the whole gasket, i put the gasket on and locked the lid for 4 hours. Cooked on it same day. No problems.
Red&Blue Kamado 4 Posted November 9 Thank you so much for your input, greatly appreciated! I just bought the Permatex and will go ahead and apply it later today. Thanks again! 1 Brandon Store reacted to this
Marco F 0 Posted November 27 Got one for John Setzler, Hey John, Replacing both mesh gaskets on my Kamado Classic 2. The top one didn't stick well enough with the factory adhesive thus didn't stay on the Joe. Should I just glue it again using Permatex Copper? Is there any issue health wise using Pematex around cooking food that you know of? Thanks

Im sure its not considered food safe so since you asked me a food safety question, I will have to say no. Don't use it. Find a high temperature food safe adhesive instead.
