First Boston Butt on 10” Titan

Recommended Posts

I have cooked many butts over the years, but first time with a Kamado 10” Titan. Salted the 5lb butt over night and going to see how long 225 could sustain before adding more lump.  I’ll keep you posted.

Two hours in holding a solid 250 degrees. I forgot to mention I threw in four large pieces of Cowboy lump that I fired up in my Chimney. I will be adding some hickory chips in the next hour or so.

Hour 7: Took the butt  off the grill at 175 degrees. Foiled it, wrapped it and put it into the cooler. Going to let it rest for an hour or so. The lump could go for another 2 to 3hrs easy. I am very impressed with this 10” Titan. Held it’s Temp even during the heavy rain and wind throughout the day. Thought about  buying the BGE MiniMax for $600, but i’m glad I didn’t. The Titan 10” small Kamado ($150 shipped) is the real deal. Will be buying a lot of Butts and Brisket for the $450 I saved.

I’m very pleased with final product. Made a little Eastern Carolina vinegar base BBQ sauce for the finish. Also, I just checked the Titan and its holding 300 degrees on hour 11.

Cheers!
