Fyvo
I am new to Kamado grilling. Bought this today at an estate sale. Does anyone know anything about the brand? Would I be able to replace the inside grills? Any info appreciated. JeffieBoy
K_sqrd
Welcome to the forum. That is an older Richard Johnson Kamado. It is a K7 model and looks to be in good shape. RJ sold the business to Galaxy Outdoor Grills in Las Vegas aka Rocket Kamado. Link to site: https://www.galaxyoutdoor.com/kamado-rocket-official What is the condition of the inside of the grill? What accessories came with it - grates, deflector, upper and or lower brackets? There is a lot of good info in this sub forum and you might want to do a little reading of some of the threads. Fyvo
Thank you. Very helpful. To be honest, I purchased it semi-sight unseen, although the estate sale company gave me a Facetime video inspection. I sort of had to act fast and ended up agreeing to $500. I don't know if that's good or bad. I was told that the elderly owner was pretty meticulous with his things. I see some rust on the outside handle and around the hood. It looked to have the grill grate inside. I see that it has an attached shelf. I don't know about the deflector, or upper and lower brackets. There wear also some boxes of accessories that looked like they had never been opened? I will do some research here and see what i can learn and see what restoration it might need when it arrives. Thanks again.

Lost Down Under
Looks fantastic on the outside. Post some pics of what's inside and the accessories. There's some great resto threads in here dedicated to the K7. Well worth a read. Just about finished restoring mine as well.

Peganded8
I received a K7 from my sister. It received a big crack a the way around in shipping. Can it be repaired with refractory cement?
