Lower vent slider

How is your lower vent slider door? I find mine very loose maybe a bit too loose im thinking of taking the rubber hammer to as i did to my broil king keg to snug up that door for a better fit. How is everyone's else vent?

From various reports it, well, varies. Mine is lose. I tried taking a rubber mallet to it as you suggest, but it didn't do much. I've ordered some BGE felt that I plan on backing the slider door with to tighten it up and seal any residual air leas (I've already sealed behind with RTV). Do what you can and let us know how it turns out!

I used BGE gasket instead of rtv behind the vent.

Worked great. My vent moves easily but I don't think it is too much. A close inspection under bright sunshine only shows the right hand side (end of the vent) as a potential issue and very small.

I sealed in between the lower vent frame and the akorn with a piece of gasket material I cut from a sheet of material I had on hand, and "tightened" the slider track with a pair of lineman pliers before I screwed it back on. When I put a light inside it appears to be sealed pretty well and the door slide is tight enough to stay put but adjusts easily by hand when I need to.
