cajunlady
Actually, the finishing sauce I made was with cider vinegar which was a big hit with the guests. I had bbq sauce on hand in case somebody wanted it but it was never touched! mountain griller
dlew
Nicely done! and yes, found out that the cider vinegar goes so well with the pork.
BillCarr
How do you guys handle the vinegar? Sounds great if you care to share your techniques or recipes with it. Dirkdaddy
ebijack
Take most any BBQ sauce, start with 1/2 cup cider vinegar to 2 cups sauce, simmer and taste and adjust to taste. My wife usually adds some brown sugar, I prefer to add honey if it needs it. That is a starting point. I like to add my mustard also. cajunlady
The finishing sauce I used was 1 cup cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons salt,1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cayenne and a touch of ketchup. The longer it sits, the better! beaverbone, Dirkdaddy and BillCarr

cajunlady
That looks good. I'm gonna give it a try. Any idea how long it will stay good?
mrmarkfr
Mine usually only lasts as long as the pork does:), 1 batch per 5-7lb shoulder
